1. Hang on to writer’s work for months and months. Do editor stuff that is a mystery to writers.
2. When it is time to contact author, allow a good 48 hours or less for turn-around. Maybe 72 if you’re sending proofs after working hours on a Friday.
In seriousness, I have worked with some very nice folks on a few small-ish projects and I am sure they are really really busy and really really pressed for time but man oh man, this is a hurry up & wait business. And I’m not joking about the Friday night delivery. Sheesh!
